A syntax error is inside one of the keymap files.
In this case it is inside the '/usr/share/X11/xkb/symbols/by' file:
TLDE { [ Cyrillic_io, Cyrillic_IO apostrophe, asciitilde ] };)
There is no comma between 'Cyrillic_IO' and 'apostrophe'. It was made by
my mistake, but this leads to the error
thank you, so it's not really a bug in the GNOME tool but was an user
error, the error dialog could probably be better but it would requrie
quite some work and we will not likely invest efforts on a dialog
displayed only when errors happen but rather on trying to get the errors
fixed so no normal
