This is solved in Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx LTS.
I just did a fresh install of the operating system, and ufw.log is there. :)

I am using Lucid with all updates.
ufw.log is included in the left pane by default.
I can File-Open, to open it and add it.
But it was not there by default for me.
But perhaps it would be on a fresh install. I ran since the alpha or
beta then upgraded...

What version of Ubuntu are you using? Because I tried to reproduce this
issue under Lucid and is displayed correctly (gnome-utils 2.30.x).
