I think the error is related to the accents (á, â, ã, ç, etc). I am
making the instalation on clients in English and then changing to
Portuguese.
You workaround is must more easy... Thanks!

I found a workaround: if I rename par_défault.keyring to
par_default.keyring, then it works

I have the same issue on a new installation of Ubuntu Lucid with a
French locale.
Seahorse creates a par_défault.keyring file in ~/.gnome2/keyring/, but
then it's not able to read it and spits out lots of errors in .xsession-
errors:
(seahorse:2137): Gtk-WARNING **: Failed to set text from markup
work around:
1) uninstall language support. Leaving lang EN only.
2) delete keyring folder:
$ rm -r ~/.gnome2/keyring/
3) reboot and set you password (key-ring default)
4) re-install language pack (PT - portugues)
