Thanks for your bug. What LANGUAGE value do you have to
/etc/environment? Do you get the issue if you run LANGUAGE=C gimp? The
tools menu uses color on my edgy installation, where do you notice the
issue?

When I run gimp it uses en_GB locale (you can see if you point your
mouse at the bucket fill tool). If I run LANGUAGE=C gimp or
LANGUAGE=en_US gimp, the problem disappears.

This is especially strange because the C locale has color spelled with
the US spelling.
