The question is, should this be considered a bug that the man pages
documents options that g-c-c doesn't accept, or that g-c-c doesn't
accept options that the man page documents? The former is a
documentation issue, while the latter is an implementation issue in
g-c-c. I'm tempted to vote for the

ubuntu-docs doesn't deal with man pages. That belongs to the application
in question. Even if it did, this is an error in gnome-control-center
not accepting some options, rather than some non-functional options
being documented, as g-c-c should definitely accept an option like
--version.
