Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-media

When setting the volume to 100%, the sound still stays to low to hear
anything.

I Have to run AlsaMixer through the console and set the volume there for
it to have effect on my headset, it appears that the volume set in
gnome-volume-control is multiplied with the level set in AlsaMixer?

It should not be nessessary to start a console application to get
correct sound on a -- plug and play -- USB headset.

Note that the sound using normal speakers/jack is normal.
