As I see it, rest of Evolution is still alive and responsive. Even
right-click on the dead preview pane gives the menu from which delete,
reply etc options still take effect on the message selected in the
message list and does not change the preview displayed.
This is a very serious bug. I have
A workaround is possible: this involves complete disabling display of
HTML messages.
Evolution preferences - Mail Preferences - HTML Messages - Plain Text
Mode - HTML Mode Only ever show PLAIN.
As a side effect I also notice a considerable speeding up of mail
display.

Evolution hangs
Hi Pedro,
I included them in Evolution with DragDrop and then evolution changed
them to inline text ... grrrhhh.
OK, now second try. I saved those mails separately and extended the file
with .txt, so hopefully evolution doesn't mess it up this time...
