Good news everyone: downgrading does work! Running telepathy-gabble on the maverick version (0.10.0-1) turned my gtalk into unconnected “No reason specified” after some hours. Downgrading to the lucid version (0.8.12-0ubuntu1) turned it back on again. I repeated the test two times. I will leave
