Works here, too, between up to date edgy installs on i386 and ppc
machines.

Thanks for your bug. Might be fixed with this upload:

[edgy] GTK-based apps crash when run through ssh tunnel between powerpc and

By the way, this crash happens only between my i386 machines and my
powerpc machine. Remote X works fine between the i386 machines, it's
just when I attempt to run a remote X app on my i386 box from the ppc
box or vice versa, so I'm guessing there's some endian issue going on.

After looking at the backtrace, I'm guessing this is actually in
libcairo, not gtk.

One more data point, fdclock itself _does_ seem to work OK, so this may
in fact be a gtk bug after all.

More data: I have 4 machines running the very latest edgy:
firestorm: AthlonXP desktop with NVidia binary driver running compiz. 24 bit
display depth
phoenix: P4 Mobile laptop with opensource ATI drivers on a radeon 7500 running
metacity, 16 bit display depth
firefighter: P4 HT desktop running
I've tried with a number of different themes on both the Xclient and the
Xserver machine, from Human, to Industrial, to HighContrast, and I still
get the same crashes with the same pairs of machines.

And apps from a dapper/i386 Xclient work fine on the edgy/ppc Xserver.
And I'm quite sure that I was using dapper/ppc apps on edgy/i386
Xservers before upgrading.

I can't reproduce this here when running gtk applications on PPC over a
ssh tunnel... works perfect on latest edgy
