My mistake, it was a 160GB iPod Classic. RAM usage did not go down again once the transfer was completed, nor when the iPod was safely disconnected. It returned to normal once Rhythmbox was shut down, however. Screenshot attached as proof. ** Attachment added: Screenshot-3.png

Reproduced on the same system on a smaller scale - Rhythmbox doubled in memory usage (from around 70MB to 140MB) when transferring ~150 songs to the same iPod. Surely it should be able to transfer one song, then remove it from RAM and do the next? -- Huge memory usage when transferring many
