Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager

Maverick only supplies 4 brightness increments on my PC, although I have
8 possible increments - my LCD supports the following levels:

$ cat /proc/acpi/video/VID/LCD/brightness 
levels:  12 24 36 48 60 72 84 100
current: 72

For instance, when the screen is set to maximum (100), pressing the
brightness down keys (FN-down arrow) makes the brightness go to 72, then
48, then 24, then 12. Pressing up from here makes the brightness go to
36, then 60, then 84, then 100.

I'm currently running a 2.6.36-rc3 kernel, but the problem also exists
in the stock Maverick 2.6.35 kernel.
