You have been subscribed to a public bug: Binary package hint: indicator-applet
Simply put, I click "Shut Down..." from the menu, nothing happens. I have to go to the command line and enter in "sudo halt" to get my system to turn off. This bug has only ever occurred with Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx. I am currently running the 64-bit version of Lucid, and my system is using the NVIDIA and Broadcom-STA proprietary drivers. The bug seems to happen usually when I've been running the system for an hour or longer. I'm sure you can see how big a problem this is - rarely can I shut down via GUI. This is extremely frustrating, and as far as I can tell, a very severe bug.
