I think this patch (against trunk, shouldn't be hard to backport) will fix the
crash
Trying to look for something that could cause a crash with this stack trace, I
think the above patch catches the problem (trying to
marking as fixed if it works fine on edgy. Feel free to reopen if you
get the problem again

Is this still happening for you? Can you still reproduce it? I just
tried here (running edgy): I set the number of workspaces to 16, then to
36, then back down to 16, and nothing unusual happened. Did you have
windows in any of these workspaces? How many rows do you have your
workspaces arranged
Hi Thomas.
This is not reproducible on Edgy .. I can scale upto 36 and back.
There were a few windows on SOME (2-4) of the workspaces - not all.
I am not sure of the number of rows - but I must have tried with 1,2 and 4.
Regards
Abhinav

Thanks for your bug. How did you change the number of workspace, with
the keyboard or by clicking? Could you install metacity-dbgsym from deb
http://people.ubuntu.com/~pitti/ddebs edgy main and get a backtrace
with it?

Hi,
I changed it by clicking on the up-arrow.
BTW, I saw the crash again while scaling down from 36 to 16 workspaces.
