Public bug reported: as far as i can see in edgy and gnome 2.16 there is no disk management tool.
this means, for example, that a user is unable to format a usb-stick. they will often come pre-formatted as fat32 but there are many usb- devices which a user will want in ext3 and not fat32 or whatever else. what are we going to do about this? is there a plan? apparently gnome has given up on disk-management. should we include gparted by default? we can not allow the necessity to use the terminal for a task this trivial in ubuntu...especially since with edgy there is no need for the terminal for any other task (in other words it is becoming complete as a a desktop solution)... ** Affects: gnome-system-tools (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Assignee: Ubuntu Desktop Bugs Status: Rejected -- what do we do with disk management in ubuntu? https://launchpad.net/bugs/66465 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
