[Bug 683604] Re: generated personal gpg key fingerprints are not accepted by launchpad

2011-06-05 Thread Andreas Moog
This isn't a bug in seahorse or the generated pgp-key, you simply forgot to send the key to a keyserver. ** Changed in: seahorse (Ubuntu) Status: New = Invalid ** Converted to question: https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/seahorse/+question/160347 -- You received this bug

How it went wrong: - Open seahorse (Password and Encryption Keys) - go to tab My Personal Keys - File - New - PGP key - enter requested full name, email and comment - no advanced options had been changed - Enter password twice - type some random keys while generating the key - wait till finished -

I think this part is missing from LP explanations gpg --send-keys --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com (pubic keypart) or in seahorse Remote - Sync and Publish Keys -- generated personal gpg key fingerprints are not accepted by launchpad https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/683604 You received this bug
