hum:/var/log# tail syslog Dec 12 13:38:37 hum gdm-binary[959]: WARNING: Error activating session for user sbock: Activation is not supported for this kind of seat each time I unsuccessfully try to switch, one of these lines is generated. All worked well in 8.10, unsure about 9.04, rather sure 9.10 malfunctioned. Now I'm stuck with 10.04 and no user switching. Followed some bug reports, the most promising being http://forum.ubuntuusers.de/topic/schwarzer-bildschirm-bei- benutzerwechsel-2/#post-2478232 which proposed to install the newest gnome-screensaver, which I already had...
