It wouldn't have occurred to me to look for a setting It didn't occur
to me either, I only randomly stumbled across it when looking for
something else in the settings.

I am no longer able to reproduce this issue with nautilus
1:3.10.1-0ubuntu9.1 on Ubuntu 14.04. Even after enabling tree-view in
prefences and changing to list view, I am not able to select the
triangle and drag it, only select the directory itself. Are anyone else
still seeing this issue?

Yeah, looks like it's fixed.
(btw I was astonished to see that tree view didn't work any more. It
wouldn't have occurred to me to look for a setting, I thought they had
just eliminated tree view. I wonder why they do this sort of things. So
counterintuitive. It would be better to list them as 3
By following the steps provided I was able to reproduce this in Oneiric,
and Natty for that matter. Note that the + sign on the left has been
replaced by a triangle, but it still behaves like described above.
Someone should probably forward this to the nautilus developers.
