Compare LP#725167 for another slider direction issue - seems there is
inconsistency in Ubuntu about wheel directions for sliders.

Back to the issue of preference window's output volume slider only
moves downward: it does move correctly when the preferences window is
open and I turn the wheel while hovering the mouse over the sound
indicator's menu.
