Affects me too. Really annoying with fullscreen apps (like watchng a
movie on a plasma TV in fullscreen shows Unity panel and burns ubuntu-
indicators onto plasma display.

I believe this is a bug in Unity, not Totem, and likely a dupe of bug
#688825. Unity should detect when an application is full-screen and not
appear above it.

(I noticed this particular issue with mplayer, not Toem, but I believe
it happens with any full-screen application. Another user reported it
happening with the rdesktop client.)
