Marking unconfirmed, I've tried with a edgy CD and on my feisty desktop
and I don't get the bug. Downloading the 4 tarball you attached to the
bug on the desktop and dnd them to the theme manager doesn't break the
previews, the ? are displayed for like one second and then the preview
are displayed
What I meant is that all the previews in the main theme list (with the
full themes) disappear and are replaced by the no preview icon.

Thank you for the efforts on that. The bug is not really clear though.
There is preview only for complete themes, not for widget themes. How
can the preview for a widget theme not been displayed correctly?

Sorry, I probably should've tried the latest version first. I've
attached a few of the themes I used - the MacOSX one is the icon-only
theme, Aero has a full GNOME theme with widgets and window borders,
and all the others are widget-only themes. I got all of these from
websites like
