I also have this problem. It was fine in Edgy. I think it should be
fixed in Feisty. It's not always feasible or convenient for me and other
people to upgrade to every new version of the system when it comes out.
This is such a basic thing and the introduction of a bug in Feisty where
there wasn't
That only a cosmetic issue and feisty is not a LTS, not likely to be
backported

I wouldn't call it only cosmetic. As it stands, on my system, the date
is unreadable. It may seem like a small thing, but I think checking the
date and time is a very very basic thing one does all the time. It
speaks to the elemental usability of the system. This is not just a cool
3D effect or
the bug is fixed in gutsy now

Will this be fixed in Feisty? Looks like upstream is fixing it in 2.18,
so does that mean it'll get updated in Feisty?
