I have the same bug here, with intel gfx.
I found this while searching for a solution:

I don't know if patch commited in Xorg Intel driver at 2013-11-04 15:13:38 is
included in Ubuntu xorg-video-intel driver.
It seems a bug should be

Bug #880923 looks similar and it's in oneiric too. However eog 3.3.5 in
precise shows this image.
