Same problem here. I open the document and the font is ugly. Installing
msttcorefonts didn't solve the issue. Seen like it using a ugly non-
smooth font as a replacement for a missing one. Open the doc who
generated the PDF show a beautiful smooth font, só it seen evince is
using a bad font or has

Not sure if that's really consider as an application bug, installing
required fonts would not be easy to do and not work in most case when
non-free fonts are required

That's right, installing the msttcorefonts package solves this.
But shouldn't evince give me a hint that i has to do so? Or shouldn't evince
automatically download these if i open a PDF that need these fonts? (like in
rhythmbox with MP3 codecs)
