I think this is independent of any theme. If you set the Tango theme as your
prefered icon set, and look at the 'Places' menu you see predominately blue
icons... because those are on the colour palette, and the same applies for the

When trying to open a PDF file in GNOME, I get this message:

Thanks for your bug. The crasher is fixed with dapper (gnome-panel should
ignore the recently-used instead of crashing), that's a duplicate of bug #18759
The openoffice issue is bug #24327 and fixed with dapper too
