[Bug 38574] Re: Pb syncing treo 650 on dapper drake
Hi, a couple of points from gnome-pilot. The 'invalid free' bug has just been fixed in CVS. I don't know why it has only recently shown up (it was reported on fedora) as the problem code was rather old. Anyway, that's a straight bug. Another problem has also been fixed, which may have caused some of the unreliability problems. Frank: do you find multiple /dev/ttyUSB* devices being created and hanging around? i.e. more than just the usual two? [Bug 43747] Re: proxy configuration is confusing
Do you run dapper? And use gnome-terminal? The gnome-terminal in dapper will automatically set the http_proxy environment. Apt-get uses this environment to get the proxy configuration. If you use a different terminal or no X at all, you have to configure it by different means (e.g. setting http_proxy by hand). There is little we can do about this because apt-get runs as the root user and it cant connect to the calling users gconf settings. [Bug 13199] Re: Drag n' Drop directories from File-Roller is somewhat tricky
Switching to a new app to avoid a bug is not a good idea, especially just before a new distribution version. We appreciate your interest for that bug, but the way to help getting them fixed is to work on a patch. We known that's an issue so no need to keep sending comment saying it has to be fixed. If it's not fixed yet that's just because the few people working on the Ubuntu desktop and upstream on that are too busy, and a flood of comment will not make a difference on that -- Drag n' Drop directories from File-Roller is somewhat tricky https://launchpad.net/bugs/13199 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

Upstream closing as fixed with that comment: from all accounts of this problem I've seen, it's because users have restored older evolution backups, manually copying 1.x data overtop of the 2.x data or they used a beta version that didn't yet have the migration code written. Anyways, to the OP - you just need to go to your account settings and set your Sent (and possibly Drafts) folders in the Defaults tab (hmmm, kind of a poor name for a notebook tab with this info).
