[Bug 32823] Re: no dvd menu
Sebastian, has this been committed yet? We're at gstreamer 0.10.6 now, after the dapper release, and it still doesn't show menus or allow moving through a movie's timeline. It works with totem-xine, but I find it ugly to use totem-xine when everything else works with gstreamer. If this is not into dapper yet, can I hope to see this as a special package fix sometime since this is a LTS version? After a deep investigation and many many experiments, my conclusion is that the actual version (without my patch) seems to work well, with only one exception: the bottom-right notification that appears the first in a session shows misplaced (too down in the screen). However, subsequent notifications appears correctly. Therefore, it seems that the problem is not in the width or height calculation, but in the Y position the first time the library needs to show a notification. If I try to copy out a stream url from the page source and play it with stand-alone totem-* I get the same result. If I try to play it with xine, it succeeds. [Bug 49413] menu calls smeg which doesn't exist anymore (alacarte)
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-menus In my new Dapper installation in French, when I choose Applications/Outils système/Éditeur de menu Gnome (menu editor, as you may guess even if you don't speak French), I get an error message that smeg doesn't exist. Indeed, it is no more to be found at all in the Dapper distribution but was replaced by alacarte. Alacarte virtually provides smeg but not its name. (I did not upgrade from Breezy, I did a new installation. But I DID keep my /home partition and did mount it as the new /home in Dapper. Is this the reason?) Having a menu error in the very Menu editor is annoying! Still, it is possible to launch alacarte from a terminal to correct the menu by replacing the smeg command by alacarte. Another way round would be to place a link to alacarte named smeg in /usr/bin, I suppose. ** Affects: gnome-menus (Ubuntu) Importance: Untriaged Status: Unconfirmed -- menu calls smeg which doesn't exist anymore (alacarte) https://launchpad.net/bugs/49413 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 49416] Calculator's Clear Entry function is redundant (gcalctool)
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gcalctool I'm feeling slightly apprehensive about reporting this, as it seems so obvious yet doesn't seem to have been noticed. But then, I never noticed it before either. Clear Entry seems to perform exactly the same as Clear. gcalctool doesn't perform partial calculations in any mode any more, so the tooltip explanations don't help. Also, the explanation in the help file is certainly wrong. Finally, Clear doesn't seem to affect any registers or anything, so as far as I can tell, the two do exactly the same thing: Clear the display. Even assuming something is different at some level, the help file is definitely wrong, as the example is impossible. ** Affects: gcalctool (Ubuntu) Importance: Untriaged Status: Unconfirmed -- Calculator's Clear Entry function is redundant (gcalctool) https://launchpad.net/bugs/49416 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
