is a corner case which means it's low priority for the Ubuntu desktop

Actually I have gotten the issue resolved. Aparrently when using any of
the nVidia drivers in 6.10 or higher Ubuntu (not sure which other
distros or releases this will affect) you have to add this line to your
xorg.conf
Option DynamicTwinView False

Same here, although the page never loads, so I can only guess that, in
fact, there is an embedded video there. I'm sure you can ignore the
first 10 lines here, but I'm a noob, so what do I know?

The Printing (System-Config-Printers 0.7.51) shows an icon which is a
[X] (I guess it means no icon found). I am using the Human icon set.
When I start the Printing Config, the status bar also shows a generic
icon.

Basically the workaround was to delete extra keyboard layouts. I had US
English as well as US Dvorak and Korean. Deleted all but Dvorak and was
able to get the keyboard indicator applet back. Then could go back and
add the extra layouts. Seems to be stable.
