[Bug 93026] Nikon NEF image file type shown as tiff

2007-03-17 Thread Timo Aaltonen
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

Nautilus first shows Nikon RAW files (.NEF) as Nikon raw image (which
is correct) but as soon as I click on one, the type is changed to TIFF
image.

Another side effect of this is that after clicking on the file the
thumbnail isn't shown anymore (the file has a thumbnail embedded) and
instead there is a generic icon for a picture.

[Bug 91488] Re: Camera RAW files open with wrong apps

2007-03-17 Thread Timo Aaltonen
You didn't mention what apps the menu has. I have a Nikon D40 and
Nautilus shows me these for .NEF-files:

Document Viewer
F-Spot
GIMP
gThumb

and they all work for me, although Document Viewer cannot show anything
else than the embedded thumbnail. Maybe you don't have dcraw installed?

I have dcraw installed. I have these four you mention too popping up on
nautilus with f-spot being the default for some weird reason. But these
apps can NOT read Kodak's RAW files. Only Cinepaint and UFRaw can.

Hmm, might be a new feature on gthumb. I clearly remember gthumb not
being able to load such files. Anyways, the default application set to
open that file is eog on gnome, and eog just fails.

I think that these apps must be removed from the nautilus menu and only
allow the apps that specifically say that they support the various RAW
formats. At least this will give some incentive to UFRAW/Cinepaint and
now gThumb to register for the right mimetypes too, instead of just
saying that they simply support TIFF.

[Bug 91854] Steps to reproduce

2007-03-17 Thread Nicolas_Raoul
Similar problem using an up-to-date Feisty, I will try to describe it
exactly:

1) I plug in my camera.
2) a Photo import dialog pops up, I click Ignore.
3) I browse my pics under /media/NO NAME/ with nautilus.
4) I close nautilus.
5) I right-click on the NO NAME icon on the desktop and choose Unmount
volume.
6) an error dialog pops up, with title Cannot unmount volume, message Cannot
unmount the volume 'NO NAME', and details Cannot remove directory.
7) At this point ls /media shows that there is already no such directory
left, though.
8) I click ok, and I can continue as usual, no bad consequences.

Good luck,
Nicolas.

[Bug 92987] Re: libgstbaseutils missing

2007-03-17 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Thank you for your bug, that's not a distribution bug though. the utils
library is used for easy code installation and only totem does that at
the moment, there is no reason it breaks something else. The library is
also new with 0.10.12 and the name you mention has only be used on CVS.
That's not an Ubuntu bug, you have likely broken something when using
non official version.

[Bug 90934] Re: [apport] nautilus crashed with SIGSEGV in g_type_check_instance()

2007-03-17 Thread KRA
I have tested again after feisty upgradet to 2.18.0.1-ubuntu1.
The same problem is there. I don't really know how to post bugs so I added a
new report here :

https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/93056

Sorry if this cause problems, I got a request if the problem was still
there with the upgraded gnome, and didn't know how else to post the
result.

2007-03-17 Thread Juspolo
Dear Sebastien i have deleted the dump log.. :(

Yesterday the MSN's servers was down and i don't knew it. I have tryed

just installed the root and just installed Beryl ).
I'm sorry for my mistake about the log and my bad english :(, i hope i

Thanks for the attention, regards. Lorenzo

The same happens with my external hard drive under /media/disk
On the contrary, two different USB keys mouting on /media/disk generate no
such error.

I checked that by mounting and unmouting them many times in different
order, always the same.

More info upon request.
