I've experienced this behavior many times before. Also, watch what
happens if an application (especially games in wine) messes with the
screen resolution - the order of panel items becomes a total mess.
Confirmed.

Feisty and totem-gstreamer. Currently it works for me, too. But more
often than not it is not working - I cannot reproduce this though.
Perhaps it's somewhat connected to playing films directly in totem.

This might be related to bug 80635 (Please disable flow-control by
default) or flow-control in general. At least they say there that

accessible, but are only writable by authenticated users.
On a windows box, it shows a prompt asking for the password - if it is
provided, the access is authenticated. If it isn't
I totally agree on this one. Integrating an Ubuntu desktop in an
existing Windows networking environment is simply painfull at the moment
and seriously slows Ubuntu adoption in a Windows-dominated world. And by
that, it's slowing progress on fixing bug #1. Confirmed.

I've experienced similar errors when connecting to the exchange 2003
server at work. Especially when trying to browse the contacts stored in
the Exchange database (this worked a lot better in Edgy!). Confirmed.

This could be anything... badly encoded video files, poor hardware
support, codec problems... Please provide more info (system specs /
videocard + used driver) and perhaps upload a _small_ sample of the
problematic file or put it on a public server where we can download it
to check for ourselves.
