I wanted to comment again on this bug should anyone with this problem
stumble upon this hoping for a solution. Although it should be obvious
to veteran Linux users, the problem is alleviated by mounting the
samba/cifs share directly. That is, instead of navigating to the share
through nautilus:

I'm now using kernel 2.6.23.12 and the driver installer from nvidia...
(neither included with gutsy I know) but it works fine now.. with
compiz! (although i had to run compiz --replace because desktop-effects

I also get the error in Gutsy (GNOME Sudoku 2.20.1). Upon completion,
it does not acknowledge completion like it once did before and when I
restart, it attempts to give me the same game that I completed before.

Totem thumbnails not working in Turkish Gutsy
It seems like this may be a few different bugs that all have the same
result, since it seems to manifest differently on different systems. My
system is a freshly installed Gutsy, and gnome-screensaver worked just
fine yesterday, but today it just blanks the screen. Previews work.

Yes, I have them enabled. I don't see how it related them at all,
however...
The problem is very hard to reproduce, I couldn't get it to happen again.

It's all about LOCALE settings.
I'm using TR locale. Samething happens to me.
It's possible to run Totem with changing Locale to en_US.
env LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 totem
But this isn't a solution. Mozilla plugins still doesn't work...

me, are you absolutely sure you set the homepage in the firefox
preferences?

they are related, yes, I think. But I would not go as far as setting it
as a dup. bug 10918 (and upstream
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=219197) deal with correctly
closing an Evo session. The results from fixing it may (or may not)
resolve this bug.
