I installed the gnome-panel-dbgsym package, and got this backtrace when
I set the preferences on the gnome-panel to show windows from all
workspaces. Based on further observation, it seems that the issue has to

Could you described all those branded component? The panel is using the
distributor logo which can be customized easily in the icon theme,
otherwise you should have no ubuntu logos used. The themes can be
changed easily by derivates and don't really count there

I just installed evolution, I did not install filters and
the first 2 mails were not sent (I don't know why)

evolution:
I seem to have exactly the same problem. It used to occur sporadically,
now I get it on almost every log-in. Logging out and in again sometimes
fixes it. This also effects the keyboard layout settings, and they can't
be changed back. By now I know where all the keys are on the US layout,
