I am using the ati xorg driver, radeon 9200 and I am seeing the same

I have the same issue. Sorry can't estimate for how long, but it worked
after the upgrade to Hardy 8.04. For me it is regardless which is the
default printer. The menue does not appear and the whole application
hang.

When I open a large manual like that for Evolution and want to search
for information about merging contact lists, anything I search for in
Yelp searches all Ubuntu documentation. It needs a 'search inside'
button or something similar.

It turns out that I do have the file which is failing
(file:///usr/share/gnome/help/clock/C/clock.xml#gospanel-3) which is the
Clock Applet Manual, and it has nothing to do with the results shown
when searching for 'Clock Manual' which links to the panel clock.
