Sorry to re-open - I confirm this bug is still there and agree with Saul D. B. When thumbnails (preview) are enabled, and you then enable viewing of hidden files, Nautilus freezes. It never used to do this, so no idea what has triggered it. I don't think it is connected to any folder type
