In Karmic we changed from hal to devicekit-power. Nobody confirmed that
this bug still happens in Karmic, after the call for testing below.
I just tested it myself on my Dell Latitude D430, and I get all the

This has not been a problem with my Dell XPS 1330 laptop with Janty or
Karmic , until the latest round of fixes this monrning. It is 100%

If you shut the lid on the laptop , it now blanks the external monitor

If I play a song with Totem, and the song finishes, any other sound
played by another application (for example, Pidgin playing a someone
has signed on sound) causes Totem to start playing the song again.

I can confirm that this bug affects all four of my local hard drives.
Samba shares do not show this behaviour, however.
The bug only appears when the Humanity icon theme (light or dark
variant) is in use.
