GDM overriding language selections I apply on a per-programme basis via
the env variable.
Normally, when I select Chinese (China) at the login screen, I can still
run programmes in English by prepending an env argument, e.g.

This is a pretty big deal what something that used to work stops working
in an LTS release. Any workarounds while we wait for a repackaging? I
tried installing libmusicbrainz3-6, but it didn't help. I also couldn't
figure out how to remove libmusicbrainz4c2a without having a bunch of
rhythmbox
I'm afraid I still fail to see why the correct solution here is to
produce duplicate code in each window manager instead of letting the
sound system handle it. But if we must add this functionality to
Compiz, please please please give it an off switch.
