There wasn't any error, but there was also no way to configure the
account.
It turns out I needed to install gnome-control-center-signon. Since
this is the only way to configure accounts for empathy, perhaps that
should be one of empathy's dependencies?

Confirmed. Installed OS on my SSD, I deleted the partitions on my HDD during
installation. Now I am not allowed to create new partition through disk utility
-- cannot mount it either
It gives the error mentioned in bug description.
Any workaround for this? I kind of need that extra space :S

will allow local admins to do any of the potential udisk2 actions.
Simply place it in /var/lib/polkit-1/localauthority/50-local.d.

With the open radeon driver, I found a way to fix this problem.
If I modify the GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT line in /etc/default/grub and
add radeon.audio=1, the HDMI output is always visible in the list of
outputs.

Hi,
Yesterday I upgraded from 12.04 to 12.10 and this appears to solve the problem.
The reboot after the upgrade worked and the PC was able to shut down and
power-off yesterday.
I will report back if the problem pops up again.

Well, I found a workaround for my spesific problem: start the OS
installation again, go to the screen where you can format/partition
hard-drives. I did what I had to do there, then cancelled the
installation and rebooted. Now I can mount/unmount the hard drive and I
can use it. However, If I try

Selected about 10 folders of ~10GB on a different computer and pasted it
locally while also uploading files back to the computer. Files got
stuck, could not cancel file operations, and trying to copy more files
results in them getting stuck partway. Killing nautilus would not
another bug: If you reach a position where neither player can make a
legal move, but the board is not completely filled, the game isn't
declared over with the victor the player with the greater number of
tokens. In the example I'm attaching, neither player can move and Dark
obviously wins.
I found out that it only crashes when a second instance is launched.
