For what it's worth, if I go to my iPod's device properties in
Rhythmbox, and deselect the Podcasts, and then choose Sync, it DOES go
through the sync process... sort of.
When it completes the iPod shows as having synced, but the iPod itself
doesn't show any of the synced music. Choosing Eject
Ah, quick addition to the above comment (since I can't edit). It
appears that the music on my iPod is no longer there, but just appears
in the library. The Music app just quickly skips over all the songs.
So I'm guessing the sync did actually happen, but the library is somehow
corrupted.

I have encountered internally wired USB devices in two cases:
1. An old Thinkpad connected the internal optical drive via USB.
2. An internal card reader that fits a 3.5 drive bay and connects to a USB
header.
In both cases, a full Eject of the device rendered it unusable till next

opened and modified file name.xcf, save as, file new_name.xcf, Save
After while error popup 'window name.xcf not respond', then Gimp crashes and
close.
Error console empty.
But new_name file is saved w/o errors. After relaunching Gimp, I can open it
and continue until the
