I don't really know what GTK version is going to land in Trusty but
I'm guessing it won't be anywhere near that recent, right?
indeed not, trusty is going to ship with 3.10. Was the old nautilus
having that same issue? If not how did it work around it?

When I use i3wm, evince launched from the Terminal works as expected.
If I open a PDF from the dash, evince works as expected.
To summarise, I can so far only reproduce the problem when launching

I did a fresh install of Ubuntu 13.10 to Sony Vaio. I had bluetooth file
transfer (both ways) working nicely before that in 12.04. Now I faced
this problem.
I managed to partially fix the problem of transferring files from phone to
computer by doing the following:
