the gnome-control-center GUI. In the add_all_languages() function in
panels/common/cc-language-chooser.c the upstream code includes a call

It was long time ago but IIRC after upgrading from Ubuntu 17.10 to 18.04
GDM would try to start on Wayland. With proprietary Nvidia driver it
would then fallback to software rendering haence the CPU usage.
Disabling Wayland in /etc/gdm/custom.conf or doing clean install fixes
the issue.

again. I wonder how was `bluetoothctl` affected? Probably the GNOME menu
still interacted with bluez even if the commands were invoked on

I tried that, and I noticed that 4 rapid clicks (actually taps on my
touchpad) consistently brings up the pkexec password box. Less than 3
doesn't work, and more than 4 are not necessary.

Hello. The file mimeinfo.list apparently overrides mimeinfo.cache which
seems to be recreated upon installing/upgrading packages.
Creating the following file:
[Default Applications]
application/pdf=okularApplication_pdf.desktop
as mimeinfo.list under ~/.local/share/applications/ or
