the pam profile for gdm-smartcard is missing. gdm refuses to login with
a smartcard. Looking at ubuntu/+source/gdm3, other pam files are
pregenerated into debian/ and installed from there; gdm-smartcard is
left out.

- Remove it.
sudo apt remove snapd
- clean cache (Important!)

It's happened to me twice after a recent update that I couldn't reach a
window, even though it was visible in the Activities view and listed on
the launcher.
The windows seemed to take focus, but couldn't be seen. Alt+Tab

Michael, which CPU architecture did you try when this happened? Was it
amd64 or something more exotic?
In case you have those, could you look for syslog/journal information
from the time of the installation. I suspect snapd has crashed or
panicked, having access to the log could help us
I concur with Daniel, I use Wayland only on two different systems with
Ubuntu 19.10 and they both show the same issue. Highly frustrating.

it from apt and runnning it works just fine. On a system that
experiences this undefined symbol, uninstalling gimp (and autoremove)
