@seb128 I am aware that this has been fixed in hirsuite, but it remains
unfixed in focal. I am committed to staying on an LTS release.
If this is not the right place to report this bug, could you please
point me to how I can navigate the relevant backporting request process?

I was using ubuntu on my laptop while connecting HDMI cable to a Smart

On the tv display, I was watching a video and on my laptop display I was
browsing.
And then I need to check google maps for

It's not right, basically it's the case described in
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Responses#Fixed_in_Development_release_while_still_existing_in_a_previous_release.
The report here is the first one we get about the issue and no other
user marked itself as affected. If we had unlimited resources

It seems to be any gnome-shell Xorg session hitting this crash on
exit... but for most people a Xorg session will only ever be used in the
live image.

sounds like a bug in dash to panel rather than nautilus, things work
correctly using the ubuntu dock

Thank you for your bug report, could you also report it upstream on
https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/nautilus/-/issues ? Samba isn't case
sensitive usually so it's a weird of having different directories using
the same naming working. Checking online it seems that windows only
displays one folder in
thanks for the details, it's clear at this point that it's not a
nautilus bug so I'm going to keep that one closed, you can try to report
the extensions conflicting to the corresponding upstream though, but it
does sound somehow an user setup issue

Public bug reported:
When deleting folders on a samba share with the same name but different
use of lower and upper case it will delete both folders.
for example:
If there are two folders like below and i delete 'It's Always Sunny' it will
delete both folders, when i only wanted to delete one
The issue happens if both Dash to Panel and Ubuntu Dock are enabled at
teh same time. Having only one of them active does not trigger the
issue.

Hello,
Thank you for your comments. The system log is included.
The user is logged in. I have verified that Xorg was already selected on
the login prompt, though I did not perform the explicit re-selecting
that is required to actually register the preference.
As a result, the Wayland session
/etc/gdm3/custom.conf is enclosed

The gio monitor seems to correctly notice the change, weird. There are
some similar issues which had been reported upstream, for example
https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/nautilus/-/issues/288 but never without
enough information to be debugged and resolved

sed temp file appears in nautilus but not in ls -a
I am affected, although not every time I resume my laptop. Perhaps 10 %
of the times, and possibly with more likelihood if my laptop has been
suspended for a while.
I haven't yet found how to reproduce this bug in a repeatable manner.
Have you got clues? or do you want me to upload some logs
I used "gio monitor ." at the directory. I don't know what my filesystem
is, but in AskUbuntu it was mentioned that I could use "df -T", I hope
this helps.
DIRNAME is the absolute path of the directory (I can't show it, it has upper
and lowercase characters and also spaces, it that's relevant),
I'm using GNOME 3.38.4 and I just tried mv, touch, mkdir, rmdir and cp,
and Nautilus updated instantly.
