If i use a Favorites from the Places-Menu, then the tree didn't

I can confirm this. This is because a) the http source (i.e. gnomevfssrc)
doesn't support seeking, i.e. only push mode and b) the flac decoder/demuxer
only supports pull mode.

The filesystem I am trying to copy to is FAT32. The filesystem on the SMB share
is OS X's filesystem.
I can confirm that the file that causes the problem is a hidden file on OS X --
trying to copy just this file reproduces the error.

Shortly put, yes. I see no display problems with Ubuntulooks, when RenderAccel
is disabled. Sorry for being too verbose.
The only issue with having RenderAccel disabled is the blinking with gksudo's
darkening/lighting of the rest of the screen (there's no blinking when the

anything: xine was already using 'plug:surround51' and now I invoke mplayer
with 'plug:surround51' and still both applications cause alsa to output,

I find that slightly bizarre. Since when is X-Chat as default program solely
for people who like IRC? For one thing, it's about being able to give support
to people. The Ubuntu channels are very well-populated and pretty much the
easiest way for someone to quickly get help without having to

the description says type=application/x-shockwave-flash, that's not
supposed to be player by totem but by a flash player, rejecting the bug.

well, I'm sure totem does it right, but you shouldn't prevent users
from viewing these webpage content.
The web is full of these buggy pages and I think that noone would ever
fix it, since it works in windows.
Rejecting this (I know it's not a bug) is in my opinion a bit drastic
decision that

In fact the default gconf key is set to goom but totem-gstreamer uses
GOOM: what a GOOM! for it so it doesn't match

I'll give it a go - I might get lucky.
One thing I have discovered is a user work around:
If one edits the Calendar preferences and changes Show a reminder to
something other than 15 minutes (no need to tick the check box) the problem
goes away but
That seems normal that totem doesn't eat your keyboard event when you
are on an another working space. With a dual screen, should totem quit
when you type q to an IM window somewhere else by example?
