I can confirm this in dapper. I think is an hal bug. See my hal-device

libswfdec0.3 or swf-player anyway, reassigning. What value do you have
for the /desktop/gnome/thumbnailers/[EMAIL PROTECTED]
flash/command gconf key (you can get it from gconf-editor)? Do you use
totem-gstreamer or totem-xine?

Well, I do not know if there has been a Nautilus update lately, but I did
remove one of the flash plugins for firefox as I found out it was the reason
flash wasnt working properly.
I suspect this might have had something to do with this issue, as Nautilus no
longer crashes. I am now using

even if I use the keyboard or mouse, the screensaver activates and
remains activated. I usually jump to a test console with ctrl-alt-F1,
and killall gnome-screensaver to get my game back.

Ok I attached a proof of concept to show that xorg (libx11 and xserver) are
doing the right thing.
How to use it:
edit the main.c file and replace first with 1
build and run
that will set the minimum threshold before the mouse is accelerated.
move the mouse in one corner of the screen
Right, it works fine on my box too, the range is just maybe too limited.
Vincent, you can try by putting the acceleration to the maximum and
changing the sensitivity now, you should notice a difference, could you
confirm that?

This doesn't fix it for me. And neither does stopping thinkpad-keys.
I'm attaching gnome-screensaver's debug log. The screensaver correctly

default ati drivers of xorg. i think that there are not even proprietary
drivers for the powerpc architecture.
i only see this using the ubuntulooks engine. all seems ok using the clearlooks
or traditional theme.
i can attach my xorg.conf if i am at home again. but no extra options are used.
my Acer is in the shop again (what a surprise), but my eMachines doesn't
do it. i'll recheck with my Acer when I get it back (assuming it works
long enough for the screensaver to kick in). for those of you with
Acers, are you running 64-bit or 32-bit?

I agree it's a xorg bug - but why xrandr tool works (is able to switch the
modes even though it shows apparently bad sync values) and gui tool crashes?
If the capplet simply calls xrandr there should be no problem - and apparently
