Do you have issues printing with any other programs or just this.

Just this (that I know of). Like I said, it prints fine with Gnome PDF
Viewer and Adobe Acrobat.

I am running an x86 platform - do you too?

[Bug 38181] Re: Screensaver freezes on Dapper (ATI Radeon 8500 LE)

2007-01-09 Thread Jani Juvan
I can confirm that this problem still exists on the edgy eft. I have a fresh
install of 6.10 and am using a Matrox G550 AGP card with default xorg drivers.
I get this problem when selecting certain screensavers in Screensaver
Preferences. Most screensavers do not give any preview and instead hang the
Screensaver Preferences window after a while. If this screensaver remains
selected and is activated when machine is idle it results in a complete hanging
of the system only fixed by doing a cold boot.
Fortunately the screensaver can be reset to blank-only with gconf-editor. Maybe
I have been unlucky, but the only screensaver I have managed to get to work is
the FiberLamp one, although I have not done thorough testing.

Hope you guys solve it soon.

[Bug 44702] Re: gdmsetup: no error message when choice rejected

2007-01-09 Thread Daniel Holbach
 gdm (2.17.5-0ubuntu1) feisty; urgency=low
 .
   * New upstream release:
 - No longer close file descripters in forked process which shows dialog
boxes since this causes the dialogs to not display any text.
 - Now GDM will recognize when the system default language has changed and
will display new GUI's with the new default language. By default the
/var/sysconfig/i18n file is assumed to have the language defined in
LANG=foo format. The --with-lang-file configure option may be needed
to specify a different system language configuration file. On Solaris,
for example, it would be /etc/default/init.
 - Remove filter_watch after it is called for the first time. This filter
is used to start the at_spi_registryd, but after it is started there is
no need to listen to the propery any more.
 - Further improvements to gdmsetup to improve usability. (Malone: #44702)
 - No longer hardcode invisible_char property in glade files, instead
   realy on GTK+ default.
 - Fix so that the userlist is hidden properly when there are no users.
 - Fixes for compiling with gcc 2.95.
 - Translation updates.
   * debian/patches/40_tiny_manpage_fix.patch:
 - fix gdm manpage has not updated for the distribution changes (Malone:
   #18709)

[Bug 78510] file dialog cuts filename

2007-01-09 Thread manu
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: mozilla-firefox

Steps to reproduce:

1. Attach a file in gmail by clicking on browse. A file selection dialog (File
Upload) appears.
2. Write on location the path to a file which will be auto-completed as you
write. Use a filename that shares the beginning of the name with other files in
the same directory. For example, foo/barbarbar and foo/barfoobar

[Bug 78510] Re: file dialog cuts filename

2007-01-09 Thread manu
OK. I will do it myself. I have just reproduced the bug in Synaptic, so
I guess that it is a general GTK bug.

(Argh, I am looking forward to the day that applications will use the
dialogs of the DE they are running on, instead of the particular toolkit
they use to show their GUI, or at least a firefox version using KDE
dialogs.)

[Bug 78566] startup programs delayed for 2 minutes with compiz/beryl enabled

2007-01-09 Thread Rouven Sacha
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-session

If i start gnome with beryl/compiz enabled from gdm with a .desktop that
calls one of the following scripts:

Either compiz:

#!/bin/sh

# Compiz startup script!

compiz --replace gconf
gtk-window-decorator --replace

exec gnome-session

or beryl

#!/bin/sh
exec beryl
exec emerald
#sleep 1

All the programs that get invoked through gnome-session (update-
notifier, gossip, evo-a-n, g-p-m, bt-download, g-v-m --sm-disable,
beagled, nm-applet --sm-disable) startup with a delay of roundabout 2

On feisty there is no need of such hack to start compiz, desktop-effects
can be used by example. Marking low importance since that happens when
you do some custom hack apparently which is not a standard usecase. To
be confirmed by somebody else and forwarded upstream if that happens on

[Bug 77990] [feisty] cdrom double entries

2007-01-09 Thread Amnon Aaronsohn
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-mount

I have a CD-ROM and a CD-RW drive in my computer. Ever since I upgraded
to feisty, the Computer place in Nautilus shows 4 entries: CD-ROM 1,
CD-ROM 2, CD-ROM Drive, and CD-RW Drive. Clearly, at most 2 should
be displayed (and even these are usually superfluous, since they're
displayed even when there's no disc in the drive).

When I double-click one of the CD-ROM n drives, the following error
message is displayed: Unable to mount the selected volume. mount:
special device /dev/hdd does not exist, which seem to suggest that this
is a gnome-mount problem.

[Bug 78510] Re: file dialog cuts filename

2007-01-09 Thread Alex Latchford
Hello manu,

I think I misunderstood this bug, I was under the impression that this
was not a bug because the auto-completion appeared to work fine for me..
Just you have to usually put in more than 1 letter occasionally after
the auto-completion is done, then it will re-run itself to get the
correct path.. Maybe when selecting is finished and it has produced a
bad file-path, (through the method that you stated), that it produces
error message stating that the file doesn't exist.. (I think that this
is what you wanted to occur right?)

I am sorry to have hastily closed the bug report, I see your point about
the bug more clearly now..

Thanks again, Alex.

[Bug 66068] Re: New iPod nano recognized as via raid member

2007-01-09 Thread Martin Jürgens
Matthew, although I didn't test it in detail, I do not except my
packages to break Feisty upgrades.

The reasons are:

- I only added a patch to debian/patches and changed the Ubuntu revision
+1.

- My package is version 0.5.7.1-0ubuntu18, the current one in Feisty is
0.5.8.1-4ubuntu1, so the upgrade procedure should detect hal as needs
upgrade.

- On a Feisty install having my hal packages for Edgy installed, a dist-
upgrade works fine.

[Bug 75849] Time/Date: Cannot synchronize with NTP servers

2007-01-09 Thread Andrew Conkling
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-system-tools

I'm running Ubuntu Feisty.

The option to Keep clock synchronized with Internet servers is
unchecked. When checking it, it asks whether I want to install NTP
support. I click Install and then I get the following error:

Could not apply changes!
Fix broken packages first.

But I have none in Synaptic.

[Bug 78584] Evince title should be adaptable

2007-01-09 Thread Michael Trausch
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evince

This is a feature request bug.

Under Evince, when a PDF is loaded, the title of the PDF is displayed in
the Window title of the Evince window. However, it would appear that
some of the PDFs that I read lack a title, or are named “untitled” or
something. These are PDFs that I read as eBooks through a distance
learning program.

It seems that Evince should be able to detect PDFs without a title or
with the title “untitled” and be able to change to another means of
identifying the window (such as the file name of the currently opened
PDF). Even better, there should probably be an option that allows users
to choose their Window title behavior:

 * Always display the PDF’s title in the window title,
 * Attempt to display the PDF’s title in the Window title with exceptions (a
list, perhaps, which defaults to including “untitled”?),
 * Always display the document’s file name in the window title.

This seems like it would be reasonable, anyway. I generally want to see
the file name, myself, and not the document title as it was put into the
document. It would help me to better keep track of everything,
especially when working with many PDFs at once.

** Affects: evince (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: Unconfirmed

[Bug 78589] OSX-like blue scrollbars don't show

2007-01-09 Thread Matt Medland
Public bug reported:

In the Mac OSX like themes such as T-ish, in the screenshots blue
scrollbars are clearly shown. Yet when I change to that theme I just
have plain grey scrollbars, no blue in sight.

It seems this has happened to someone else aswell
(http://www.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=1989308), so I thought it
might need to be reported.

God (or SABDFL) bless the forums. :)

If you need any debug info don't hesitate to ask.

[Bug 78595] [Edgy] Gaim hangs on start, no windows displayed, no crash log

2007-01-09 Thread mathew
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gaim

Gaim has suddenly started hanging when I attempt to start it. I've tried
removing my ~/.gaim directory and starting it from the console window,
but I get no output, no GUI window, no crash, nothing in syslog. It just
sits there as a stopped process until I kill it.

If anyone has any suggestions for how I might find out WTF is going on,
I'd appreciate them.
