I got the same error with Feisty beta, after a clean install on its own
disk and an update (350 packages). After the clean install, no error,
and Feisty could see my usb camera. After the upgrade, the "failed to

Gnome-panel crashed again for no reason (was using vmware) but forgot to
run valgrind. Tried to run backtrace and hope this can give you some
insights.

Sorry I missed your post dated 2007-01-10. As I wrote clearly in the bug
description, this was a default edgy install, and broken right
parentheses were seen in window menus and buttons of various
applications.
The problem has been fixed in Feisty beta.

Absolutely. The problem only exists in nautilus-cd-burner in Edgy - all
other CD/DVD burning applications work exactly as expected. As I said in the
bug report - the burn is still good, but the error message persists and the
available speeds are wrong.

Same happens for me with MP3 files: EasyTag cannot read the tags after
editing the tags in Rhythmbox, whereas Totem, MPlayer still correctly
display the tags. This phenomenon does not occur when I edit tags of
ogg files, that seems to work fine.

There seems to be an internal issue with the USB device management.
I have disconnected all usb devices i got, except for the mouse (Logitech MX
1000 Laser) and the keyboard (Fujitsu Siemens 105 keys Swedish layout). Same
thing, during boot or installation, it get stuck at Hal hald.
