[Bug 92879] Re: gnome-sound-recorder unable to playback

2007-05-12 Thread Boris Dušek
Maybe you someone could add his/her comment not only in Launchpad, but
also in the Gnome bugzilla (bug number430101, or use the link at the top
right), where the real solution will get place, so that the problem
might get more attention there.

[Bug 114169] [apport] evolution-2.10 crashed with SIGSEGV in camel_cipher_decrypt()

2007-05-12 Thread Laurent Bonnaud
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

This crash can easily be reproduced:

 1. send a GnuPG encrypted mail to somebody
 2. go to the Sent folder
 3. right-click on the message and select Edit as new message

The bug is perhaps caused by the fact that evolution only encrypts the
message with the key of the recipient, so that I cannot decrypt the
message after sending it. I think that in the past evolution had an
Always encrypt to self option, but I cannot find it in this evolution
version.

[Bug 114189] Feisty: Nautilus freeze when file properties is requested

2007-05-12 Thread Nicola Jelmorini
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

This issue happen only after a boot of my PC, the first time I want to see the
properties of a file (no matter the file type).
When I kill Nautilus, it restart, and after I don't have the problem anymore.

Step to reproduce:
1) boot the PC
2) right click on any file
== Nautilus freeze. The only thing I can do is to kill him.

During the freeze status, Nautilus create a nautilus-debug-log-txt
file. I attach this file to this bug report

As saying before, after Nautilus is restarted, the problem is no more
present.

Making more tries, I have found the next:

The problem arise when I boot the laptop with the usb mouse pluged.
If I boot without plugin the mouse gnome boot properly, after I can plug the

I guess the problem should be with the detection/configuration of the

[Bug 114217] Recommend a file converter for Windows in Yelp documentation

2007-05-12 Thread Lhademmor
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: yelp, official Ubuntu documentation

(NB: This may be reported for the wrong package - I had no idea where to report
it)
In the official Ubuntu documentation (which is also present in Yelp 2.18.1)
(Feisty) in the chapter about switching from Windows Preparing to switch
Converting unsupported... it says that There are many audio conversion
applications for Windows available for download, and some of these can be
obtained free of charge. These applications are also sometimes referred to as
audio (re)encoders. Your choice of application depends on the formats which you
wish to convert from and to. See websites such as Download.com for a list of
potentially useful applications.

Would it be possible to eventually recommend a few applications in
particular (preferably FOSS)? Download.com is very big and contains a
lot of crap - an inexperienced user would be better off with specific
recommendations, I reckon.

On the other hand I don't know what to recommend... I personally use
dBpowerAMP, but that's not FOSS (and besides it isn't cheap), so that's
hardly recommendable.

May be an idea to look into this?

[Bug 113944] Session crash

You have been subscribed to a public bug:

Hi,

I reboot Feisty.
After autologin, the error-window opens:

Sua sessão durou menos de 10 segundos. Se você não terminou uma sessão,
isso pode significar que há algum problema de instalação ou que você
pode estar sem espaço em disco. Tente iniciar uma sessão de segurança
para verificar se você consegue consertar o problema.

Visualizar detalhes (arquivo ~/.xsession-errors)

I open ~/.xsession-errors, copy and paste here.
And now, when I close the error-window, Feisty is rebooted.
Whats happening ?
How to solve ?

(Sorry for english, I'm brazilian, speak portuguese...)

Thanks for attention !

[Bug 114232] gdm won't start the first time; second does

2007-05-12 Thread DjMix
Public bug reported:

At boot, gdm won't display the usual greeting prompt. Screen remain
black, with mouse cursors rotating, for 20-30 seconds. Then, X restart
automatically, ad gdm shows the correct login prompt. From the syslog I
can see than the first time, gdmgreeter exit immediately, causing some
automatism to restart X server. This time gdmgreeter starts correctly.

I normally configure gdm for automatic login; whit this behaviour it
show me a prompt (no automatic login).

I tried to purging ad reinstalling gdm, but this makes no difference.

[Bug 114235] CD-Icon on desktop: no possibility to assign an action

2007-05-12 Thread LikeItClear
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

Hi. When inserting a CD, an icon appears on the desktop. Good. But when
clicking on it, I only get an error saying cannot open device cdda://.
It would make more sense to include a possibility to start an audio-
program, rather than trying to open the CD in Nautilus.

[Bug 114240] failed software installation, system can no longer update.

2007-05-12 Thread Marc McCullough
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-system-monitor

the install now the system comes up with an error that virtualbox needs
to be reinstalled but it can't find the archive. I downloaded the

try. I cannot install any other packages or install system updates.

[Bug 114284] Movie Player default for audio files

2007-05-12 Thread Steven Wagner
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: totem

Movie Player is a misleading title for the default audio file player.
Perhaps it should be named Media Player. Or maybe the default should
have two separate aliases, one for Movie Player and one for Music
Player. That way an individual can more easily change the default
application for music, without having to deal with the default movie
player.

2007-05-12 Thread Crispin Kirchner
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 67443 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/67443

This error occurs to me since I exchanged my graphics card. Formerly I
used an old ATI R128P. I changed the motherboard while I was using Edgy
to an old onBoard Intel graphics adapter. The driver is the i810. Since
I'm using this adapter, it's exactly the same to me as shown in the
screenshot above. Today I installed a fresh Feisty and it's still the
same. Thank you for listening, greetings!

lost the ability to copy .dat files to the hard disk.

[Bug 63090] Re: do not eject all USB/Firewire devices

2007-05-12 Thread Wenzhuo Zhang
After installing the hal update (0.5.9-1ubuntu2~feisty1) released
several days ago, eject becomes unmount on the context menu for USB hard
drives. I think It is a workaround for this problem, but it's not a nice
solution.

[Bug 114345] Users Settings Error and unable to switch users

2007-05-12 Thread CFD
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-panel

I have recently installed Ubuntu and created two users.

First problem was with switching between users and ended up with a blank screen
and unable to get any response.
Seems to work ok when logging into either user individually from startup.

Trying to checkout the user setup through System/Admin/Users and Groups
and get a blank window that doesn't respond.

tried gksudo strace users-admin and found lots of possible errors, some of
the text as follows
access(/etc/ld.so.nohwcap, F_OK) = -1 ENOENT (No such file or directory)
read(3, 0xbfe49a6c, 32) = -1 EAGAIN (Resource temporarily unavailable)

[Bug 114353] Feisty won't remember my dual monitor setup

2007-05-12 Thread Kevin Gabbert
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: yelp

using Nvidia drivers. when I boot up, I always have to go into
SysinfoNvidiaNvidia Display SettingsXServer Display Configuration and
Configure it to Twinview. The Separate X Screens don't work at all,
which is what I really want. but I can do with twinview..

When I do Twinview, I save the settings, and all is fine till I reboot.

SysInfo sees GPU 0 (GeForce FX 5600) and lists 2 CRTs under it, but it
only has 1 X Screen listed above that.

as far as saving the file, basically, SysInfo never saves that file
Xorg.

I'm not married to SysInfo,
If there is another way, please let me know, as I would happily mod the Xorg
file myself to fix the problem, but I don't know what I am doing there, so I
use a GUI app to do it.

I've tried it on 4 different monitors so i don't think it is monitor
specific, I am quite sure it is an Ubuntu setting thing.

[Bug 114355] Cursor in epiphany

2007-05-12 Thread Matthew
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: epiphany-browser

When you click on the web pages in Epiphany it shows a cursor. This is
distracting and extremely annoying, not to mention pointless (since
Epiphany isn't a content editor, the cursor serves no purpose). Please
report this upstream.
