[Bug 120214] Re: Faulty reporting of free space with Sony Ericsson z710

2007-06-15 Thread James Henstridge
I've committed a fix for this in r46. The capability parser now notes
if valid free and used space values appeared for a memory type, and the
VFS method will not report a free space value if none exist for the
selected memory type.

This should fix the file copying problem on your Z710. I am still
interested in data from your older phone for the test suite, if you can
provide it.

[Bug 116870] Re: [gutsy] GSlice: g_thread_init() Error messages

2007-06-15 Thread Joachim Beckers
petr, hapee: this bug is clearly not a crasher. if your app crashes, you
_should_ file another bug, because the GSlice stuff will not be the
issue. as sebastian said: there are a lot of packages that work
correctly even with the bug. (see the entry in the gnome bugzilla for
details)

to really help with the gutsy development, filing bugs correctly is the
least you can do.

2007-06-15 Thread hardyn
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 63090 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/63090

Same problem with my USB camera, and one of my USB hard disks.

My SATA external USB drive will eject properly.
My IDE external USB drive exhibits the above symptoms.

suggesting it has something to do with the response given by the
IDE-USB interface; although it seems to be with ALOT of devices.

and as stated above, a CLI umount is not really acceptable.

Also, but maybe this should go in another bugreport, when I try to do
forbidden things (like removing a system folder), the connection is
lost and I cannot connect to my phone again before I restart the phone
(even restarting the bluetooth functionality on my phone doesn't work).
This might be some problem with my phone but it could be worked-around
if obexftp somehow tells the PC what actions are forbidden.

[Bug 120214] Re: Faulty reporting of free space with Sony Ericsson z710

2007-06-15 Thread Marcin 'Qrczak' Kowalczyk
I'm sorry, the patch *did* help (logout/login was needed, lsof tricked me into
believing that libobex.so was not in use).
Thank you!

I added gnome-vfs-obexftp to PLD LInux Distribution.

[Bug 120214] Re: Faulty reporting of free space with Sony Ericsson z710

2007-06-15 Thread James Henstridge
Karel: thanks for the folder listing data. I'll add it to the test
suite. As for the problem with attempts to remove system folders, could
you report a new bug? If it is a bug in the phone though, I can't
guarantee that it'll be fixable though.

Marcin: It is good to hear that the patch fixes the problem for you.
Would you be able to attach capability and folder listing data to this
bug so I can add it to the test suite?

[Bug 120552] Conflicting hotkeys

2007-06-15 Thread Rockallite

Menu item Preferences and toolbar button New Shared Memo are both

chance to use that hotkey combination for New Shared Memo. There's no
way to change the hotkeys, either.

[Bug 120570] Gfloppy is not enabled

2007-06-15 Thread Kemel
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-utils

We just can't use gfloppy to format removable media disks because it is
not enabled on the Ubuntu feisty. When we click on a media disk, such as

Formating is available only through terminal commands and there is no
way to access gfloppy other than that. This issue was discussed on the

[Bug 116870] Re: [gutsy] GSlice: g_thread_init() Warning messages

2007-06-15 Thread Susan Cragin
Gramps (the genealogy program) and Audacity do not load at all. This may be due
to this bug or something else, if I am reading the comments properly, and I
should amend or file bugs for both of these.
Audacity has previously reported stability problems:
bug 106930
So I added my traceback report to that bug.
I filed a new bug for gramps.

[Bug 120573] bluetooth connection lost on forbidden actions

2007-06-15 Thread Karel Demeyer
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-vfs-obexftp

When I try to do forbidden things (like removing a system folder), the
connection is lost and I cannot connect to my phone again before I
restart the phone (even restarting the bluetooth functionality on my
phone doesn't work). This might be some problem with my phone but it
could be worked-around if obexftp somehow tells the PC what actions are
forbidden.

[Bug 120214] Re: Faulty reporting of free space with Sony Ericsson z710

2007-06-15 Thread Karel Demeyer
I was totally wrong before; first I was still using the 0.3 release version
(installed the trunk version with the wrong prefix), and after noticing this
and fixing it I didn't completely restart. After a reboot (loggin out/on
didn't seem to do the trick (not cleaning /var/lib/bluetooth ?)) it works. It
doesn't report the memory available but it lets me copy files.
When I try to copy a file that is too big, it reports an error after sending
the data that fits and asks me to cancel or retry. Seems OK to me (don't think
you can do any better with this data you get :)).
I'll create another bug for the forbidden actions problem and try to
investigate it a bit.
In short: it works OK for z530i (seems to use the same protocol - not telling
us how much free memory) as the other phones here.

Re: [Bug 67188] Re: Error activating XKB configuration. - Requires manual xorg.conf editing

2007-06-15 Thread Stormhierta
I can confirm that Christers above suggested solution of clearing all values
via the gconf-editor and placing the correct values in xorg.conf manually

problem with the Swedish keyboards.

Christer, thanks for the research into this. Yes, it does sort of sound
like maybe gnome-keyboard-properties is doing something improper. I've
added control-center to this bug. If someone can confirm that it's

[Bug 120594] parsing of From lines broken if period in display name

2007-06-15 Thread Lee Maguire
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

If I receive a mail with the following header
  From: foo.bar baz [EMAIL PROTECTED]

it will be displayed by Evolution as
  From: foo.barb az [EMAIL PROTECTED]

The main bug is with the application that sent the mail, since periods
are not permitted unless quoted.

However, there are many broken systems that produce these headers
(including the mail that led me to discover this) and in fact RFC2822
(Section 4.1) introduces obs-phrase which accepts the period.

[Bug 48880] Re: Control-s should do forward-search-history

2007-06-15 Thread Micah Cowan
Ctrl-S controls the flow... by pausing all output on the terminal
(Ctrl-Q is used to resume output).

The output of the stty commands given above actually are not entirely
accurate, because bash changes the state of the tty just before, and
after, running a command. If you were to run stty against the tty while
bash is still reading input via libreadline, you'd see some different
results: at a minimum, -icanon instead of icanon. However, it's possible
that readline should also be setting -ixon -ixoff (I'd have to look up
if it's really supposed to do this), in which case the settings of stop
and start should be ignored, and passed through to bash.

You can check the terminal settings when bash is still listening for
input instead of running a command (such as stty itself), by obtaining
the name of the pseudo-terminal file that bash is running on with the
tty command, and then running stty against it from a _different_
terminal/shell: stty -a /dev/pts/whatever-the-terminal-is.

The fact that Ctrl-S followed by cursor down results in gnome-
terminal eating the initial ESC of ESC [ B, and then inserts the rest of
that sequence, even when stty has ^S assigned for stop, is clearly a
bug. However, it may be a separate bug from whether or not readline is
setting the terminal properly. If it turns out there are two separate
issues, we will need to split this bug report into two.

[Bug 119968] Re: Notify plugin stacks up balloons if you press forward repeatedly

2007-06-15 Thread Endolith
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 108702 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/108702

This isn't really a duplicate. I am complaining that the balloons stack
up, while that bug is about the bugs *not* stacking up. :-) I think
the notification balloons should probably be replaced by subsequent
balloons in this case. Could each one be made to expire when another
one is created to take its place?

[Bug 29043] Re: gpilotd runs away with CPU after completing hotsync

2007-06-15 Thread Fedor Isakov
I think this bug needs to be reviewed. I can confirm the same problem as
the original reporter: gpilotd consuming 100% CPU after a successful
sync. Actually, there are two outcomes after a sync: either gpilotd
starts eating up the CPU, or the Pilot applet stops responding to
requests (gnome-pilot settings dialog are not displayed). In both
situations the solutions is to run 'killall gpilotd'. In the latter
case, this follows by several gnome-pilot settings windows being opened.

All this is happening on Feisty with Palm TX connected via USB. I'm
using 'usb:' as the palm device, not /dev/pilot.

[Bug 120611] in evolution cannot move recursive events

2007-06-15 Thread Maze
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

When in evolution for some reason I can't move recursive events - it
asks if I want to move this instance or all instances, so I select all
instances, and then it does nothing...

I have multiple calenders, and I can't tell precisely when this started
happening

Seems quite a fundamental interface inconsistency - makes it seem flakey
