installed from scratch, the two others had Ubuntu 6.10 and were updated

I found out last week that the problem is likely a server-side issue because I
witnessed the same problem in Windows XP winamp (the shoutcast radiostream
authority I would think). Also the problematic behavior ceased to exist in both
rhythmbox and winamp later.

I use the nvidia proprietary driver from the repositories, configured
with 2 separates X screen : my computer screen and the tv out.

I am still able to ssh into the box, and the Xorg was just hung.

As indicated by the warning that's a software bug, vlc should call
g_thread_init(). The new glib is not really robust to the bug and
upstream is going to work on it but the bugs is a vlc one

restarting dbus doesn't fix anything, gnomevfs is just doing fallback on
fstab parsing when you do that which might workaround the duplicate
entry but creates other breakages most likely

I would like to confirm this bug.
My normal desktop resolution is 1280x1024. When I use my TV-Out I switch
to 1024x768. Changing the resolution does not affect the order of the
items on my panels immediately. But, if I changed the resolution at
least once, then after a reboot the order of items on
