[Bug 123365] Re: Two instances of 7z in archive type menu in file-roller
I've found out that it affects feisty too, if you have p7zip installed (which my brother's pc didn't). If you have a feisty livecd or vm or something, you can do this: Fire up the livecd/vm. Add universe (and perhaps multiverse, I'm not sure) repos to sources.list. Install p7zip (sudo aptitude update ; sudo aptitude install p7zip) and then try to add some files/a file to an archive. Look at the formats. At the bottom are two 7z's. Make exactly the same archive but using the two different 7z's. Now check the sizes. Exactly the same. Now do a diff (diif archive1.7z archive2.7z). No differences. Now md5sum them both (md5sum archive1.7z archive2.7z). Exactly the same md5. I'll test this on earlier ubuntu versions when I have time. -- Two instances of 7z in archive type menu in file-roller https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/123365 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 123149] Re: CD Burn Popup for Disk Handled Badly
Here I disagree. This is exactly the kind of user story you need to talk about with interactive user interfaces. Even when a user is not expecting to hit the OK button over and over again, there is a possibility the user will accidentally hit the mouse button twice. If you examine the location of the OK button, you'll see that over half the area over which the mouse pointer is likely to be hovering will also be hovering over the Cancel button when the first popup goes away, so that the user can easily hit said Cancel button by accident. This is bad design and can easily be fixed by simple displacement of the top popup. This is a bug, and the bug is more of a problem because of the bug in 123152, since that bug causes the user to tend to hit OK over and over rapidly until there is a response. This is a typical design issue for a UI. You never want to place or design a window in a fashion that makes it needlessly easier for the user to make a mistake. Furthermore, it's easy to fix. -- CD Burn Popup for Disk Handled Badly https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/123149 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug contact for nautilus in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 123380] Re: Windows Installation Impossible
The reason you need to install gtk+ (it's not the gimp you need to install) is because they don't want to include gtk+ if you already have it.
