[Bug 131067] Re: evolution crashed with SIGSEGV

2007-08-10 Thread _bogdan_
I've tried to reproduce the crash with no success.
There are some files under /var/crash, one of them with evolution - I assume
this is the file originally attached to the bug description.
If needed, I'll upload it.

Regards,

[Bug 98813] Re: [apport] gnome-terminal crashed with SIGSEGV

2007-08-10 Thread Michael Wayne Goodman
I have been seeing the same symptoms. I was at first unable to
reproduce it reliably, but I found that button-mashing (like repeating
the home keys: asdf;lkj) while in unicode-input mode (scim) would
crash it quickly. Actually, it doesn't crash, it just locks up. I have
to then kill it manually (which kills all other instances of gnome-
terminal at the same time).

I tried to follow the valgrind wiki in order to produce this log, but if
I did something wrong please let me know. I'm not too skilled at
reporting this kind of bug yet, but I'm willing to learn.

Attached is my valgrind log.

also, please reopen this bug, as I need to use unicode from the command
line for my school project. I regularly use grep, sed, awk, etc. with
unicode, and these lock-ups are a pain

[Bug 130012] Re: Can not build from source: missing header libebook/e-book.h

2007-08-10 Thread Harrison Metzger
I am using control-center-2.18.1-0ubuntu2.1 (from apt-get source gnome-
control-center). I am using ubuntu 7.04.

When I do ./configure make I get no error actually. However, it will
build all the capplets except about-me. Its possible I get an error but
it does not cause make to abort so its scrolled off my screen. Each of
the capplets has been made and there is an executable binary in each
directory accept in about-me. When I go into /capplets/about-me and run
a make there I get:

Perhaps I'm not doing something right with ./configure but why would it
build every other capplet accept about-me.

[Bug 112350] Re: Evince gets stuck when trying to open PDF file

2007-08-10 Thread Simon Law
This bug occurs when the X server gets confused about display
dimensions.

Some video drivers, like fglrx, will mess up. xdpyinfo gives the
following output on my system.

screen #0:
  dimensions:1400x1050 pixels (0x0 millimeters)
  resolution:-2147483648x-2147483648 dots per inch

Evince asks GdkPixBuf to create a negative sized pixbuf, which is
impossible.

The workaround is to manually specify the DisplaySize in
/etc/X11/xorg.conf.

[Bug 131556] Re: Tooltips block further input events to menus

2007-08-10 Thread Andreas Schildbach
I just compared the behaviour to how it was in Feisty. Indeed, in Feisty
tooltips immediately disappear when you leave the icon that has the
tooltip(without Desktop Effects).

With Gutsy, they do not disappear when moving the mouse anywhere, but
only after some timeout. During that timeout you cannot click on any
controls of the same panel.

A screenshot would only show a virgin (just installed, just booted)
Desktop with the Firefox tooltip open.

[Bug 120452] Re: freeze on right click Properties

2007-08-10 Thread Martin Ahnelöv
Ok, so if I understand this correctly, when you right-click on a file
and choose properties, Naautilus hangs/freezes and eventually crashes?
An when you restart it, it works again (can you open preferences?).

What version of ubuntu, gnome, nautilus, etc do you use? Happens to all
files? Do you have them in your home, and on the root filesystem? Do you
know if the problem does still exist on the latest Gutsy-alpha?

Can you please run this, make it crash and attach the output, please:

G_DEBUG=fatal_criticals nautilus

Also, follow the steps in https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Backtrace and attach
the resulting file, please.

Thank you.

[Bug 131556] Tooltips block further input events to menus

2007-08-10 Thread Andreas Schildbach
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-panel

Steps to reproduce, on Gutsy Tribe 4:

Hover over the Firefox Panel Icon until a tooltip opens, then try to
open the System menu (or any other menu) while the tooltip is still
present. It won't work.

Input events to the whole panel seem to be blocked until the tooltip
closes again. This makes browsing through menus feel very ugly.

[Bug 120452] Re: freeze on right click Properties

2007-08-10 Thread Stefano Roberto Soleti
Yes, exactly.
I use Ubuntu Feisty 7.04, GNOME 2.18.1, Nautilus 2.18.1-0ubuntu1.
It happens to all files, in the home and on the root, but not always. I don't
know if the problem still exist on Gutsy.
Now I can't attach the backtrace because it didn't crash. But this morning I
had the same problem. It happens without an apparent cause, even without
applications running.

[Bug 131599] Click on Help in gnome-search-tool, can't find help data

2007-08-10 Thread Tristan Rhodes
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-utils

Click on Places Search for Files Help.
Yelp starts to open but displays this error message:

Unable to load page

The requested URI ghelp:///usr/share/gnome/help/gnome-search-tool/C
/gnome-search-tool.xml is invalid

I checked and this file does exist in that location. Do you think the
triple-forward slash is the problem? Perhaps an extra / ? If so, the
location should be changed to.
